Poodle in black

Poodle in black

I just couldn’t pick a favorite so here they all are. I got a chance to photograph a pup of a different color this weekend and I have to say it was a little bit of a challenge. Her fur is inky black so I chose to photograph her against black and let the light from the window create highlights on her fur that would define her shape. For the most part I think it worked. Help me pick a favorite?

A lot to be thankful for…

Thanksgiving is a time of course to give thanks. Yup we should do it all the time but it’s a day to actually think about it! I was thankful for the ability to watch this little bug and for the wonderful bounty of food we had today. I think our bird enjoyed his treat of a walnut as well while I played with the focus on my camera some more. What a nice day to be off work 🙂

Getting prepared

Spooky neighbor

Here is a photo of a winery that is not yet completed. For some reason this house always spooks me out a little at night. I think it’s because there are no lights on the outside of the house. Every light in the house is on and yet it appears lifeless – almost looks like a glowing face in the darkness.

Watershed photos

I was called today by a SCI Consulting Group that helps public agencies with their funding sources in these troubled times. The public agency was the Contra Costa Clear Water Program. I have had a number of my photos of the surrounding area printed in their annual calendars and today the consulting group asked if they could use a couple of mine for their brochure to try and raise awareness to continue the funding of the program. Below are two of the photos they wanted.  I am honored they picked a couple of mine.
