Find your Facebook ID

Have you ever needed to put a like button on your webpage or want to show what fans are following your page? I recently needed to set that up on a website and for that you need your FaceBook ID. This is not always as easy to find as you might think. It’s not a simple matter of copy and pasting the web address. If the person has a vanity address where their name is part of the web address then the string of numerical digits don’t show. I found this nifty website that takes guess work out of hunting around for you ID. It has the very intuitive name of “Find your Facebook ID“.

Just paste your Facebook address in their field box and it will spit back a string of numbers that is your unique Facebook ID!

It’s the season of politics!

In my last post I talked about working on one of the photographs that I used for a website I was working on for a woman who is running for Antioch City Council. Below is a screenshot from her site http://www.mwilson4antiochcouncil.com/

I worked with her campaign manger of winningresults.inc and designed her site. I took photographs, designed and added things like a blog and a page for paypal contributions. She now is updating her site using Adobe Contribute.

A little trip through the little town of Locke Ca

Locke, Ca was founded in 1915 according to it’s website by a group of Chinese immigrant merchents who wanted to establish a town of their own after a fire had broken out in nearby Walnut Grove. It was originally named Lockeport after George Locke, who owned the land that the town was built upon at a time when Chinese people were not allowed to own land. It is also been designated National Historic Landmark District  due to the historical significance of the only town being built by Chinese for Chinese. Much of the original decendents have moved on but many of the buildings remain in their original state (a school house, an import shop, grocery store etc.)

Below are some snapshots from my visit to the little town. Hope you enjoy!
