A little trip through the little town of Locke Ca

Locke, Ca was founded in 1915 according to it’s website by a group of Chinese immigrant merchents who wanted to establish a town of their own after a fire had broken out in nearby Walnut Grove. It was originally named Lockeport after George Locke, who owned the land that the town was built upon at a time when Chinese people were not allowed to own land. It is also been designated National Historic Landmark District  due to the historical significance of the only town being built by Chinese for Chinese. Much of the original decendents have moved on but many of the buildings remain in their original state (a school house, an import shop, grocery store etc.)

Below are some snapshots from my visit to the little town. Hope you enjoy!

A fun photo shoot with some fun students

I had a really fun photo opportunity to take a handful of students to photograph for our photo library. The objective was some campus lifestyle shots. Some students of the drama program volunteered and we did a photo shoot one VERY warm morning! Below are just a handful of shots I liked. After a couple hours of shooting the sprinklers came on and a few of our hot models were game to have a little fun getting soaking wet before they had to go to their regular jobs. Hope you enjoy the photos as well.

Meet Monica

I had the pleasure a few days ago to photograph Monica Wilson who is running for Antioch city council. I didn’t know her before this shoot but found her to be such a warm and enthusiastic person. I hope you can tell by her smile here what a warm person she seems to be.  Antioch needs a person like this as so does every city. I wish you well Monica!

Photo taken with three flashes. One soft box to the right and an umbrella to the left and fill light behind her aimed at the back wall.
