Yes we are some bleeding hearts as we have a couple of baby peacocks in the house! This one above had the unfortunate luck of getting under a horses foot. We found her crying by herself on the ground at night. They should be up in the trees at night so obviously she wouldn’t have lasted long that night if we hadn’t picked her up. We think she is a girl because even as a downy fluffy thing she was trying to feed and brood the other one rescued about that time below.
This little guy as you can see has all his toes and is quite inquisitive. I found him almost dead in a ditch. The mother hatched her eggs and this one rolled away. By the time I found him his toes were curled up underneath and barely able to lift his head. It was starving but nothing a little sugar and caffeine couldn’t fix! Now we have quite and adorable pair that is growing up fast!
Gotta keep those feathers clean!
Yeah we think she is a female however she can’t help but display her little baby feathers sometimes!
Good night all!
They are all soooooooo cute. Bummer about the horse getting that one. Looks like her feet took the worst of it. But luckily she has your family to take care of her! I mean you need more pea fowl around anyway. 😉
Wow, what a neat thing you did. Great photos of them. Maybe you can feed them something to keep them this size forever!
What amazing shots, Eloine! They are adorable, and look quite attentive to their new mommy. 😉 Looking forward to seeing more of them.
Michael says they’re cute too…but he’s sucker for cats.
Greetings from the Schuster house in Mattsies, Germany!
Superb pictures, Eloine! You are a simply wonderful photographer! Seems to me you captured the unique personality of each
Oh my gosh! These are adorable! Did you setup a little studio in the house for these? Wow! Rockin’!
Oh they were everywhere – I’ve never seen so much joy as they things have hopping around. We have to eventually move them out because they are getting big but we don’t want to. They are soooo sweet.
