Today I want to talk about two really cool sites – one for business cards and the other for online photo galleries.
The fist is moo.com. Hmm well the name doesn’t really say it’s all but their product says the rest! I had never heard of them before until I attended a wacom webinar where they were talking about making “portfolio in your pocket” using photoshop tips, a wacom tablet and the printfinity pack from moo.com. They aren’t your average business cards where you have the same image on every card. You can have every card have a different image on one side in full color and your calling information on the back also in full color.
They are higher priced for your average business card but when I got them in my hands I thought they were extremely well priced! I didn’t expect such good print quality and heavy durable card stock all made from sustainable forest. Below is the picture of ones I test printed!
The next site I was wowed by today is jalbum.com. I learned about it from mighty deals website for designers and perhaps I just have a much greater appreciation after going through the work of creating coding one of these myself. If you’ve ever built one yourself you know you need to size everything and make thumbnails that match the captions up to the proper html etc. Not to mention debugging your script in every browser and smart phone there is! Then there is the problem of maintenance of course afterwards when you want to add new photos it’s pretty cumbersome. This little app from jalbum does all that for you and all you do is drag, drop and upload. What could be easier!
The picture below is a link to a test gallery I put together in a few minutes using the images I had made business cards from above. Click the image to launch demo:
Very cool. If I ever need business cards I know where to go now. And I can dream about the day i’ll have enough time to make photo galleries! LOL
Those are both awesome, Eloine! I got some simple business cards (inexpensive) from Vistaprint awile back, but the idea of having different photos on one side is super! The other is really cool too – but looks especially good because of your fantastic photos. 😉
Wow, those are awesome. Looks like they make top notch cards. But what is REALLY outstanding is the photography! Way to go!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing this.
