I think color is my favorite of this breathtaking rainbow I saw today.
Clicking on the image will make it bigger so you can see the double bow.
There was so much contrast in the image though so I wondered how it would look as a black and white and so my results are below with a slightly different crop. You be the judge!
Wow! Such a wonderful image, it works in both black and white, and color just as well, so dramatic! I Love it 🙂
Wonderful shot.
That’s a real beauty! I really like the vivid color version. We had some nice rainbows here on Saturday, but nothing close to this one!
I am amazed at the difference in contrast between the two images! It’s as though a red or yellow filter was used in the black and white one.
That’s one of the most beautiful rainbows I’ve ever seen. It was an amazing light
OMG, what an amazing scene and rainbow!
Both are so very beautiful, Eloine. The clouds really pop out in the B/W, but the color is my favorite. That sliver of green cutting through, along with the line of the road lead us so nicely to the one edge of the rainbow, and then our eye travels around the image, coming right back. In other words – besides the colors, I really like the flow of the image. 😉
Wow, it’s a hard pick. I like the angle/crop in the B&W and I really like the texture in the road, but the colors in the sky, rainbow, background are also just awesome. Nice on both but I’d pick the color if I *had* to choose.
Wow. Perfect timing. I’m talking about color vs B&W in my photo class tonight. I used this wonderful photo to illustrate several points.
Hmm… after I talked to you about masking I am now thinking perhaps I should merge the black and white and color. Gee – the most obvious is the most often overlooked!
That is the most beautiful rainbow and the picture you took of it is awesome.
Thanks Rod!
Terrific shot of the rainbow. I could see the B&W version showing up on a UFO-sightings website. 😉
Thanks Paul, that would be cool to see that on a UFO site! 🙂
Just started following your blog btw. You have some great tips on there!
