My name is Eloine Chapman and here is just some personal things about me,
what I am doing and the projects I am undertaking. Oh yes and maybe some other
ramblings about life and the universe as well!
I got to see Willie and Lobo!
I got to see one of my favorite acts at the SOS Club in Modesto for my birthday.
Willie and Lobo are just great! Unfortunately my little point and shoot doesn't
give a good image but the sound is pretty good. They did such a nice job
on this song that I had to share! Go to willieandlobo.com to
learn more about them. Oh yeah - I have this song as my iPhone ring tone!
:)
And I dropped it in the toilet! :(
Yup that's right! I have to tell you it doesn't particularly like that LOL!
The iPhone is a very smooth object and it slipped right out of my hands and
straight into the last place on earth I would want it to go. I tried to get
the battery out if it as fast as I could and with the help of my friend tried
to install a new one. No such luck though. So I sent it to ipodmechanic.com
but I should have done my research. Sending it to them for repair was
the same as sending to my trash can in the back yard. There is plenty of stuff
on the internet about them not shipping the item back until harassed and that
is what I had to do. They didn't even want to do that at first. They wanted
to have me just donate it to them. There is no phone number to contact them
directly and if you email them all you get is an automated response
that they got your iPod which it wasn't an iPod it was an iPhone!
I don't normally talk bad about a company but this place was a real rippoff
especially for a device that you start to depend on you would like some sort
of feedback.
And I love it! It's such a slick looking little toy. It has pluses and minuses that's for sure but it's so easy on the eyes. I can really see everything. I wouldn't want it any smaller. It hardly comes with a manual. You don't need one it's so intuitive. The speaker phone is worthless, its hard to navigate to make a phone call quickly , you can only delete an email message one at a time and no flash. Other than that it's super fast for a machine like this and web browsing is a snap. Beautiful clarity and very well made. Not your typical cheap plastic phone but good clear glass. It fits so nicely in the pocket. It even has a little camera!
I needed a little retreat and this little plot of earth was it. It had to
be protected from horses and from peacocks so I got this old carport and
covered it with bird netting and electric fencing around the perimeter. I
also used this as an opportunity to learn a little about Googles
3D drawing program.
I sketched out my ideas there. I also get home fairly late at times so I
rigged the garden up with lights. Please visit my picassa gallery
New lens!
Just got a used Nikkor 80-400 VR lens. Now I get all those compact looking shots of far away objects I have been hoping to get!!
A Chapman Christmas Tradition
Every Christmas morning we decorate our horses with jingle
bells and red ribbons. My mom started the tradition many years ago by getting
up before sunrise in the cold foggy air to but on a few ribbons. Later she
started putting on a few bells. The horse loved it and you could hear him
jingling all around the house. Since then our horses have multiplied and
now the tradition of decorating horses has turned out to be an all day affair!
I put some pictures and movies up
for this year in case you are interested :)
What is in a name?
Ever since I was a little kid I have been trying to figure out
why I was given this name that rhymes with a certain holiday in October!
In case you didn't get how it's pronounced from that I will try and write
it like it sounds L-O-weene. Maybe that will help :)
What does it mean? No clue really except I have seen some references that
say it means "worthy to be chosen". Well not real sure if that
is a good thing or a bad thing but if you have a really good job for me then
maybe it is a good thing to worthy of choosing! Nevertheless it's a pretty
rare name which is why I got the domain. If you know anything more about
the history of the name I would like to
know!
